Prestbury Church (west entrance)

The war memorial in St Peter’s Church, Prestbury is the west porch itself, which is dedicated to the fallen of the First World War but includes panels naming those who died in both world wars.

The ceiling of the porch is richly decorated in red, white, gold and black, and includes the words “Their name liveth for ever more” along the centre beam.

This porch was originally the main entrance to the church from Prestbury High Street, through the lych gate, but recent alterations will make the south porch the new main entrance.
