Christ Church, Bridge Street, Macclesfield is host to a number of War Memorials saved from some of Macclesfield’s former churches.
A small display features local war memorials commemorating servicemen who lost their lives during the Battle of the Somme, which took place in France between 1st July and 18th November 1916.
Pick up a leaflet for the new Macclesfield War Memorial Trail and take a walk around the town to see some of Macclesfield’s other war memorials – you’ll be surprised at how many there are!
Unfortunately Christ Church is not normally open at present.
Please see the Churches Conservation Trust website and check with the keyholder before travelling from a distance.
Please note there are no toilets in Christ Church.
There is a step up into the church and several level changes inside.
For more information, see the Churches Conservation Trust website.
