Macclesfield Christ Church WW1 Display

Christ Church, Macclesfield

Christ Church, Macclesfield

Christ Church, Bridge Street, Macclesfield is host to a number of War Memorials saved from some of Macclesfield’s former churches.

A small display for 2016 featured local war memorials commemorating servicemen who lost their lives during the Battle of the Somme, which took place in France between 1st July and 18th November 1916.

A variety of small local WWI exhibitions have been on display in Christ Church to date.

Pick up a leaflet for the new Macclesfield War Memorial Trail and take a walk around the town to see some of Macclesfield’s other war memorials – you’ll be surprised at how many there are!

Unfortunately Christ Church is usually open on Treacle Market Sundays, and by appointment.

Please see the Churches Conservation Trust website and check with the keyholder before travelling from a distance.

Please note there are no toilets in Christ Church.
There is a step up into the church and several level changes inside.

For more information, see the Churches Conservation Trust website.
