COMMEMORATION

Private George Hopkins has no known grave and is commemorated on Panel Ref. Pier and Face 3 C and 4 A of the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private George Hopkins, and he is listed on the Imperial War Museum’s Lives of the First World War website.

Locally, Private George Hopkins is commemorated on the Macclesfield Park Green, Town Hall and St Michael’s Church war memorials.
