COMMEMORATION

Private Richard Field is buried in grave ref. IV. D. 11. of the Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm), Belgium. His wife asked for the words TILL WE MEET to be added to his headstone. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private Richard Field, and he is listed on the Imperial War Museum’s Lives of the First World War website.

In Macclesfield, Private Richard Field is commemorated on the Macclesfield Industrial School war memorial.

  1. Railway Dug Outs cemetery is just south of Ypres in Belgium, not France as stated above.
