Son of Mr. J. Moran, of 43, Thomas St., Macclesfield.

COMMEMORATION

Private Frank Moran is buried in grave ref. VI. E. 33. of the Bethune Town Cemetery, France. His father asked for the words A NOBLE SACRIFICE FOR THE CAUSE OF HUMANITY to be added to his headstone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private Frank Moran, and he is listed on the Imperial War Museum’s Lives of the First World War website.

In Macclesfield, Private Frank Moran is commemorated on the Park Green, Town HallSt Michael’s Church and St Alban’s Church war memorials and the Ancient Order of Foresters roll of honour.
