Son of James and Alberta Henshaw, of 37, St. George St., Sutton, Macclesfield, Cheshire.

COMMEMORATION

Private Harry Henshaw is buried in grave ref. IV. A. 27. of the Gorre British and Indian Cemetery, France. His father asked for the words UNTIL THE DAWN to be added to his headstone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private Harry Henshaw, and he is listed on the Imperial War Museum’s Lives of the First World War website.

In Macclesfield, Private Harry Henshaw is commemorated on the Park Green, Town Hall and St Michael’s Church war memorials and St George’s Church roll of honour.
