Son of William Edward and Clara Walton, of 49 Brook St, Macclesfield.

COMMEMORATION

Drummer Sidney Walton is buried in grave ref. C. 13. of the Givenchy-en-Gohelle Canadian Cemetery, near Vimy, France. His father asked for a cross and the words “THOUGH DEATH DIVIDES, FOND MEMORIES CLING” to be added to his headstone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Drummer Sidney Walton.

In Macclesfield, Drummer Sidney Walton is commemorated on the Park Green, Town Hall, and St Michael’s Church war memorials.
