Son of Henry and Annie Fairhurst, of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England.

COMMEMORATION

Private Ernest Fairhurst is buried in grave ref. VIII. C. 8. of the La Chaudiere Military Cemetery, Vimy, France. Miss J Fairhurst, of Bute House, 75 South Audley Street, London W1 asked for a cross and the words “IN LOVING AND UNDYING MEMORY – JANIE” to be added to his headstone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private Ernest Fairhurst.

In Macclesfield, Private Ernest Fairhurst is commemorated on the Park Green, Town Hall, and St Michael’s Church war memorials.
