Son of John Preston Broadhurst and Hannah Broadhurst, of Hill St., West Kogarah, Sydney, New South Wales. Native of Macclesfield, England.





Private Jack Broadhurst is buried in Grave Ref. I. B. 6 (Coll.) of the Lebucquiere Communal Cemetery Extension, Pas de Calais, France. His father asked for the words “IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE FROM FATHER, MOTHER, SISTERS AND BROTHER” to be added to his headstone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Private Jack Broadhurst.

In Macclesfield, Private Jack Broadhurst is commemorated on the Park Green, Town Hall and St Michael’s Church war memorials.



Brother of Pte Maurice (Morris) Broadhurst, who served as Private 816 with the 18th Bn. Australian Infantry and died at Gallipoli on 22 August 1915, aged 20.
