EARLY LIFE

Thomas Conley was born in Macclesfield in 1892. By 1901 the family had moved to Tyldesley, Lancashire.

 

WW1 SERVICE

 

COMMEMORATION

L/Cpl Thomas Conley has no known grave and is commemorated on Panel Ref. Pier and Face 5 D and 12 B of the Thiepval Memorial in France. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for L/Cpl Thomas Conley, and he is listed on the Imperial War Museum’s Lives of the First World War website.

In Macclesfield, L/Cpl Thomas Conley is commemorated on the Park Green, Town Hall and St Michael’s Church war memorials.

Elsewhere, he is commemorated on the war memorial at Tydesley with Shakerley, near Wigan, Lancashire.
