Son of David William and Ellen Barratt, of 24 Mill Street, Macclesfield.

The death of Cyril Barratt was reported in the Macclesfield Times of 15th September 1916.

Gunner Cyril Barratt is buried in Grave Ref. Plot 2. Row B. Grave 26. of the Corbie Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. His mother asked for a cross and the words “There is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance live for ever” to be added to his gravestone.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for Gunner Cyril Barratt.

In Macclesfield, Cyril Barratt is commemorated on the Park GreenTown Hall, and St Michael’s Church war memorials.
