COMMEMORATION

2nd Lt. Charles Beck is buried in grave Ref. II. E. 84 in East Mudros Military Cemetery, Lemnos, Greece. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds casualty details for 2nd Lt. Charles Beck.

Locally, 2nd Lt. Charles Beck is commemorated on the Macclesfield Park Green, Town Hall and St Michael’s Church war memorials, and on Prestbury St. Peter’s Church war memorial.

The floral tributes laid when the Macclesfield Park Green War Memorial was unveiled on 21st September 1921 included one with the words “In loving memory of Lieutenant Charles H. B. Beck, from his son Eddie.”
